Different countries, or states or regions within countries have different requirements when it comes to witnesses. In general, most will accept any documents signed in front of a notary. But there are numerous exceptions where one or two independent witnesses are required. Sometimes the notary may be one of the witnesses as well.

Please make sure you find out how many witnesses are required and that you bring those witnesses with you. If you cannot produce witnesses, you must inform the notary in advance and ensure that sufficient witnesses will be available.
